It’s past the deadline to submit a video to Oprah’s Your OWN Show casting call if you’re interested, but you can still vote on a favorite audition.
I thought the girl (Brittney from New Haven, IN) did really well in this video. I always admire people who can stand in front of a camera or a group of more than three people and talk easily without stuttering or worrying about what is going to come out of their mouth!
Wouldn’t it be cool if an allergy show idea wins this? Talk about a platform for change within the food allergy community!
In her video, Brittney talked about being diagnosed with Celiac last year, her involvement in food allergy awareness and her growing passion for food.
Among some of the ideas she shared in her 2-plus minute clip is a desire to cover a variety of food allergies and intolerances: soy, diary, seafood and tree nuts, to name a few.
I really like her ideas, which include interviews with manufacturers, segments about international cuisine and recipe and food suggestions. She talked about the importance of delivering reliable and timely information related to food allergies.
